Having been married more than once myself, I understand how getting married again feels completely different to the first time.
I believe it is more emotional and intimate, and it’s about two people whose love for each other is strong and silent and therefore does not need to be shouted from the rooftops to all and sundry but shared closely with those we call our nearest and dearest, family and friends.
You could just go to the Register Office with your witnesses and get married – as we did. But when we got married there wasn’t the option of having a small intimate ceremony afterwards. We’d never heard of a Celebrant. So, some of our family and friends missed out on the occasion.
You, however, now have that choice. Once you have done the legal part at the Register Office you can have a small intimate ceremony to express your feelings AND your personalities wherever, whenever and however you like. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to join your friends in your own back garden, proclaim your love to each other through carefully worded promises, and have all your favourite people involved in, or at, your ceremony? You can even let the dog carry the rings.
With warmest wishes,
