Covid-19 update - Celebration of Life / Memorials
Updated: Jun 24
These are trying times for everyone but more so for those who have recently lost a loved one. Procedures for funerals and funeral ceremonies have had to change and may change even more. Many people will not be able to attend the funerals of loved ones due to the restrictions on gatherings and travel. For some it will be a very sad and probably frustrating time.
At the time of writing (April 2020), some crematoria have changed to direct funerals only, this is where the body is cremated without a funeral service beforehand and without the family present. Others are allowing a very short committal service but must abide by the Government guidelines to minimise the risk of infection meaning that only immediate family may attend.
For these reasons many people are now booking ‘Celebration of Life’ ceremonies for a date in the future (when hopefully restrictions on gatherings are lifted) or it could be as a memorial on the first anniversary of their loved one’s death.
If this is something your family would like to arrange please contact me to discuss options and to reserve your special date.
My thoughts are with you.
